Your Go-To Chiropractor in Sherwood Park
At Refresh Health & Wellness, our spinal decompression chiropractors relieve pressure on bulging or degenerative disks by separating facet joints of the vertebrae. These adjustments improve the body’s alignment and help to increase the range of motions of the joints. When you visit our clinic for chiropractic treatments, you can expect expert care, empathy and a comfortable patient experience.
Why Visit Our Clinic?
There are two main reasons why someone may visit our chiropractic clinic.
They have an injury or are experiencing chronic pain or discomfort and want a prescription-free solution to their aches.
They are fit and healthy athletes who understand the importance of proper spinal function and skeletal structure maintenance to support their active lifestyles.
The first thing that many people think of when they imagine what a chiropractor treatment looks like is back and neck cracking. The technical term for this practice is spinal compression therapy.
Active Release Technique ®
Old injuries or chronic inflammatory diseases can result in a build-up of scar tissue that can impede mobility. Active Release Technique ® is a non-invasive, hands-on therapy that aims to break up stubborn scar tissue to reduce pain and give back movement in the affected area.
Low-level, no-heat laser therapy is a gentle modality designed to stimulate the body’s metabolism by activating your cells with engineered light wavelengths. The stimulation speeds up the body’s natural healing process and reduces inflammation.
Shockwave Therapy (ESWT)
Shockwave therapy is a non-surgical method of reducing pain and promoting healing in the musculoskeletal system. It is a common practice in sports medicine.
This therapy involves sending acoustic, high-energy waves to the affected area to kick-start the body’s self-regenerative processes in the bones, tendons and other soft tissues.
Graston Technique ®
Graston technique involves a patented, stainless-steel instrument to target areas that have a build-up of scar tissue that may restrict movement and cause pain.
The Graston massage technique breaks down tough scar tissue to restore the function to strained muscles, pulled ligaments, or weakened tendons and other soft tissue.
Some common ailments that the Graston technique has been effective include, carpal tunnel, fibromyalgia, tennis elbow, back pain, knee pain and shoulder pain.
Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT)
Popular in sports medicine, many athletes turn to shockwave therapy as a chosen treatment method. Shockwave therapy is carried out with the use of a machine that emits low energy sound wave pulsations directly onto the skin.
Extracorporeal shockwave therapy has also become a popular non-surgical treatment method for conditions that traditional physiotherapy techniques have been unable to successfully treat. This includes tendon-related conditions caused by physical injuries (such as car or workplace accidents).
